How The Development Process Works
Starting a fashion brand involves much more than creating a few designs. From concept and technical development to sourcing, sampling and production, there are a lot of moving parts to manage along the way.
For new brands, I offer a full-package project service only, with a minimum collection size of 5 designs. This allows me to guide your collection through each stage of development and make sure everything works together from the beginning.
What's Included In Your Project
For start-up brands, I offer a full-package service which typically includes the stages below. Following your discovery call, I’ll provide a tailored project proposal based on the needs of your collection.

Stage 1 - Design Development
This is where the collection takes shape. Depending on the project, this can include refining the initial concept and direction, fashion design, color development, and any print or graphic design required.
For clients who already have a clear concept and direction, we can begin directly with design development. Where additional concept work is needed, this can be added as an extra service.
Stage 2 - Technical Development
Once the designs are approved, we develop the technical information needed for sampling and manufacturing. This includes detailed tech packs, brand size charts, fabric and trim direction, measurements, construction details and other product specifications.
Stage 3 - Labels & Tags
We develop the branded components needed to finish the collection, including main labels, size labels, care labels, hangtags and other relevant trims or packaging elements.
Stage 4 -Manufacturing & Sample Development
Once the collection is technically ready, we move into manufacturing. This can include manufacturer sourcing, factory communication, sample development, fittings, revisions and support as the collection progresses toward production.

How Long Does It Take?
As a general guide, the full development process can take approximately one year from the start of the project through to production. The design and technical development stages typically take around 3-4 months, followed by a further 6-9 months for manufacturer development, sampling and production. Timelines can vary depending on the complexity of the collection, factory lead times and the number of sample rounds required.

Photoshoot
If you need assistance organizing your photoshoot, there are several services I can offer. From creating concept boards to finding your perfect photographer and videographer, I would be glad to support your needs.
