Founder Feature: How Bigfoot Kick
Elevated Their Apparel Brand

Founder Daniel Bliley shares the story behind Bigfoot Kick and how we collaborated to develop The Legendary Collection | By Emma Golley |May 30th 2026

At Emma Golley Studio, I love working with founders who have a clear point of view about their brand and the culture they want to build around it. Daniel, the founder of Bigfoot Kick, came to me with an already established identity, a menswear brand built around individuality, adventure, and embracing the weird side of life.

While the foundation of Bigfoot Kick was already there, Daniel wanted to elevate the brand with a collection that felt more refined, unique, and true to his vision. Together we collaborated on developing The Legendary Collection, designing a series of graphic tees, hoodies, and hats that push the brand’s identity further while maintaining the playful spirit that makes Bigfoot Kick stand out.

In this interview, Daniel shares the story behind the brand, what inspired the Legendary Collection, and what he’s learned so far while building a clothing brand from the ground up.

Q: For those who haven’t discovered Bigfoot Kick yet, can you tell us a little about the brand and the idea behind it?

A: Absolutely. Bigfoot Kick, at its core, is an invitation to be weird and wild - to tap into that part of you that you really love, but sometimes are afraid to show. We say, it’s OK to be weird. But you can still look good doing it. I grew up believing in Bigfoot. The Loch Ness monster. Aliens. Weird creatures. I was fascinated by animals and our natural world. I wanted to tap into that lore, but because I also love fashion…I wanted to blend those two worlds together.

Q: The brand celebrates individuality and embracing your “weirdness.” Where did that philosophy come from, and how does it influence the way you design and build the brand?

A: It definitely comes from me, being a weirdo. And I say that lovingly, of course. Like, I will go from a high-level corporate meeting, working on big business projects by day…only to come home and binge watch episodes of Skinwalker Ranch and Expedition X and read Ninja Turtles comics. I think more people are like that - just switch out some other hobby or fascination. But when we have conversations with each other, it’s usually what we do (our job) and what we did over the weekend (usually where we ate and what chores we did). I think we should all let ourselves be a bit more free about the things we really enjoy.

I think it influences the design in that we refuse to be boring or just plain. We want to push the boundaries so it invites conversation. It says, this person has some flare. Whether it be playing with different textures, oversized prints, or unique placements - we try and stretch the limits of regular apparel.

Q: Bigfoot Kick already had an identity before this latest collection. What made you feel it was time to evolve or elevate the brand?

A: The biggest need was something that truly captured the brand and where it was headed. Like most small apparel companies, I started with finding high quality blanks and using screenprinters. I would sell out of limited runs, and always found myself having trouble getting items back in stock that matched the first runs. I wanted to create quality with consistency.

Q: What was the vision behind The Legendary Collection and what direction did you want to explore creatively with it?

A: The vision was to pay homage to easily one of the most recognizable names in the world - Bigfoot. A true legend, I wanted to explore what that means - to be legendary. To explore a whole new realm. To breakthrough and discover. I wanted to capture the feeling of chasing after something iconic, and what you’d want to wear on that chase.

Q: What made you decide to work with Emma to help develop this next phase of the brand?

A: I was searching for an independent designer - a small business like myself. I was comparing different options but felt Emma was approachable and most importantly, very skilled. I needed someone who knew the industry in and out and could execute my vision in a technical way. I also liked that she offered services beyond just a tech pack - but could really take a creative brief and build out an entire collection design from that.

Q: How did the collaboration help you push the designs or quality further than you had been able to before?

A: It helped me see things come to life that I didn’t even know or think about. Things like a raised HD print on the woven neck labels. Additional elements like the zig-zag stitch on the brand label at the seams. A cross-weave hatch styling on a patch. Every detail was well-thought out and executed…that doesn’t happen without this collab with Emma.

Q: What was the process like turning the ideas for The Legendary Collection into actual pieces like the tees, hoodies and hats?

A: The process was pretty easy and smooth - mainly because of how Emma coordinates and handles all of the details. From intake, to initial designs, to creating samples and moving to production. The biggest part that was super helpful was in the sample to pre-production phase. Having Emma go through all the measurements, fits, and color corrections was such an amazing service.

Q: Since launching The Legendary Collection, have there been any reactions or moments from customers that really stood out to you?

A: Customers have liked the new designs as well as the quality - but the biggest reaction came on a photo shoot. I was working with an agency that does photo shoots for some really big, Fortune 500 brands. And they really loved the garments and had a lot of fun with them. To get that kind of reaction from an agency that has experience working with huge retail brands let me know that I belonged in this space.

Q: What has building Bigfoot Kick taught you about launching and developing a clothing brand?

A: Patience. Patience. And some more patience. Building anything is hard and it takes time. There’s ups and downs. But when it comes to the clothing side of it specifically, it comes down to paying attention to the details. You really can’t cut corners when developing something that people will put on their bodies. If you do, you end up with clothes that don’t fit. Colors that fade. Designs that look off. You have to take pride in the craft.

Q: What excites you most about the future of Bigfoot Kick as the brand continues to grow?

A: I get excited about expanding the Bigfoot universe. There is so much culture and lore around this creature, so much imagination and fun. I’ve barely scratched the surface. I want to build out and expand even beyond apparel - to become more of a cult following around the Bigfoot Kick brand (with apparel always being the anchor products, of course).
